ed, seeing as i haven't offended you so far, could you help me out with a query?
i've verbally accepted a job offer, handed in my notice today and was going to drop off my new contract tomorrow. however, after handing my notice in, i've been contacted about another job (job 2). i cant delay handing in the new contract as they might brick it and cancel the whole thing, and as i've handed in my notice it could leave me with a bad case of unemployment.
so, if i were to sign and deliver the contract, what are my chances of breaking it after a week or two, before starting the job? there is no mention in the contract of breaking the contract before commencing work, only my notice period (4 weeks).
if i do get job 2, and they (job 1) get arsey about me breaking the contract, could i give my notice period to them, whilst working my notice out at my current place of work, thus only working with them for effively a week? |
