i don't think they should build a mega mosque in EAST LONDON. Not because of the whole terrorist links or because its a focal point but because what about the rest of the country? Shouldn't they just try to sort out the mosques and the facilities throughout the country and make them useable for all Muslims (ie,both males and females) rather than build a mosque that only the frikkin Londoners and tourists can visit.

Dunno enough about this Mega Mosque stuff to comment but last I saw East London has a fantabulous Mosque, that seems grand enough.
As for the Irish,I like em. Then again I'm a scouser so we have some sort of apparent link with them. In their defence, the English seem to celebrate St Patricks more so than St Georges, you can't blame the Irish for that.

fuck that mosque, take all that money and do something useful with it - like improving the lives of the poor-ass muslims who live around that area.
someone will say that building the mosque will improve their lives cos it will further their faith and provide a place of worship but why bank on an uncertainty? there's no proof religion can enrich your life - but there IS proof that if you got no money to buy food and live in a hole, you give that person money to buy food and fix up his hole, that person is sure as fuck going to improve his life.
lets stick to basics here and forget the superfluous. |

Spoon, proof also shows that not all people given the opportunity to improve will improve, some will go back to living in a hole.
Not to go all 'mega' (har,har)religious...but IMO religion definitely enriches my life.
