I've never had any of this stuff (knowingly anyway) so whats the deal with it? Why is it around £200 a bottle?

What does it taste like?

I had this a while back. Mate bought me a bottle at a bar for my birthday. I thought it tasted like what I would imagine wee to taste like.
Admittedly we were quite drunk already so taste buds were quite shot. Decent expensive champagne would be something like Krug Vintage, or a step down something like Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque.
My favourite sparkly is Aus or Kiwi Rose sparkling wines, they taste brilliant and are seven quid, which is less than 200 quid.

Yeah I wouldn't bother. If it is special its far too subtle for the likes of us.
Hmmm what am i listening to ?
Ear Drum, the Talib Kweli Album.
That new Jill Scott.
Am having issues enjoying music at the moment. Apart from the odd tune by the Jam and a litttle bit of Hip Hop nothings moving me. Wanna get the last Kanye thing. Am being slow. Whabout you dude ?

i've got the latest wu-tang clan album too...but i've not listened to it yet.

otherwise its the orange broadband help desk "hello my name is derek what is your name? what is the 2nd and 4th character of your password, how can i help you? sorry to hear that. it'll take 5 days." arseholes.

it tastes like... it's fucking disgusting. just put it that way... £200 a bottle sounds about right - and it'll get you smashed - that's gauranteed - but - spend the money on a nice bottle of Dom Perignon (the £150 bottles - for the same reason that the £500 bottles taste narsty...) or some VSOP or something...

you know what - save the money and buy two bottles of white lightning and sit in a car park in your old school gear on a friday evening... you'll have more fun. trust me.

ed> you ever consider giving up Gin? about 2-3 weeks ago, me and a mate managed to put away 3/4's of a bottle of bacardi, funny thing is, we werent even drunk. we even cleaned up afterwards!

im thinking of becoming a whiskey drinker. gonna start rather low scale on the famous grouse and work myway up to the good stuff.

they had this very drinkable wine called tranquille at 65 rand a bottle - which is about 4 squid.

managed to find it here for 5.99 - and it tastes much better than any cristal i've ever consumed

i love glen. but theres something un-student like about not being able to mix it with coke.

all good spirits should be mixable with coke.

speaking of which, i saw some blue label at the duty free, a few hundred quid for the bottle. i was really tempted. i know my old man would love to have some of it. but if it cant be mixed with coke, its not good enough...

A good whiskey doesnt need to have a mixer! It needs to be appreciated alone..!

Had a lot of blue label over Christmas, and i think its one of those ones you learn to like, very oaky and woody taste.

but completely disagree with having to mix with coke!!

Much prefer a nice bottle of Billecart-Salmon. Never leaves me feeling rough the next day, however much i drink of it. Same goes for Prosecco. Not good though, led to the girls and i having at least one or two bottles after work every other day or so!

£15 will buy you a very decent bottle of wine.

Frankly, your best bet is to go to Tesco or Sainburys and look for wine on offer at half price. If you find a £10 bottle reduced to £5 or thereabouts, it's job done. Ideally go for a decent red. Preferably French.

Lindemanns.

Go for a medium bodied red, theyre pretty nice. Look for something "fruity". I had this Australian bottle beginning with V, I think it was Viafara or something like that.

but its all down to your own taste innit. i hate white wine.

red_indian> whats the name of this bar? indian duty free?

"red, got a name?"

as in "red chilles - got a name for the bar."

not "red (wine), got a name?"

in hindsight i could see how there could be confusion.
