Do they have their own version of the qu'ran or something? i mean this second coming of god is a bit odd.. i've never heard of any extracts from the qu'ran saying so.

A lot of the core belief systems contradict mainstream Islam.
It's just a Black Power organisation that has a religious front.
They believe that WD Fard was a personification of God
and that some scientist began doing experiments which lead to the white race being formed from weak recessive genes from black people which makes them innately evil (or something along those lines). Hence why White people are considered devils in early NOI rhetoric. Not as much nowadays ad they want to create a better public image.
They believe Elijah Muhammad is/was their messenger.
There is some loose affiliation to mainstream Islam, such as Arabic terminology and I think the prayers are the same, and they preach modesty and not eating pork and drinking liquor etc, but the history of the whole organisation is very shakey. |

I question whether they can be called "muslims". In factual terms their history only starts less than 150 years ago, some way during the 18th century. The QUr'an obviously goes waaaay before that.
If something held true to be Muslims, are not in the original Islamic scriptures yet are present in this WD Fard sect, then how can they claim to be Islamic?
Sounds like some egocentric power hungry attention seeking guy, who may have been a Muslim, took some Islamic practices and fused them with his inner beliefs/delusion about himself and established another sect of Islam.

There's also very sinister issues attached to the NOI.
1. They're Brandished as Anti-Semitic.
2. Elijah Muhammad has a dodgy past based arond committing sexual abuse.
3. Many critics argue that it was NOI that was behind the killing of Malcolm X.
4. There are also sub sects that have been involved in the systematic murder of white people known as the 'Zebra Killings'.
The more you look into it, the more and more their ideas contradict mainstream Islam. |

All thats said above is correct. NOI believe a man was god and that men are gods. Therefore based on this alone, their beliefs are clearly outside the fold of Islam.
