My best mate's sister is going out with Black guy in a long term relationship and the family went thru hell trying to accept it and then down the road have accepted it and just dealing with it. and i only go on how my community is. not any other community. thats why is said each to their own.
i personaly feel that you will lose your identity. for instance if someone married out of their race in my community they would be disowned. and know one will want to have anything to do with them.

but as an asian we are all grouped together so it does reflect on asians in a way.

I've got an interresting question about mixed race marriges within the asian community.
How many relationships ave there been which have lasted? not as in a figure but do you know of any old folk or middle aged even who are married to a black/white person?
I've got nothing against them, if anything my bias is for them, but i've just not been able to see long term futures in them. i've got a mate or two who've married white girls when they've been younger and now are divorced, single with a kid who lives with his mum. K is a top lad nothing wrong with him at all even if he does look a bit funny (lol), his dad seems happy but he's only in his mid 40's and stoill clubbing like he's 18 lol.
TBH i don't know many iner race married couples, only 1 is my uncle and he married a retarded woman from school lol.
he seems to be really unhappy but can't do nothing about it.
So does anyone know of any long lasting inter race marriges? |

Fair enough if certain Asian girls want to date Black guys, it's probably because they more than likely encounter the same probs in relationships with Asian guys that I tend to with Asian girls i.e lack of open-mindedness, overbearing traditionalism/religiousness and so on - and this leads them to look elsewhere. Like I said I have the same problem, I'm British born Pakistani but agnostic in terms of religion which doesn't really go down too well with most Asians esp. fellow Pakistani/Muslim girls so I tend to have to look elsewhere. |

There are some serious generalisations in this thread. It's sad to think being second generation kids and living in a diverse society, people still find the need to 'stick to their own' in fear of losing their roots. Your roots are not the people you hang out with, they're part of you. Why is it believed so inevitably that roots, identity and culture will be lost in an inter-racial relationship? Surely there'd be a modern mix of two cultures. I've found that some people my age (2nd generation) are just as disconnected from their 'roots' as a mixed race kid might be. Roots and identity are a crisis faced by people of all races. Who is to say a mixed raced person is more likely, where are the facts? Is it so bad to be different? Assumptions, assumptions...
And what actual statistics exists of inter-racial marriage success? Note: Asian marriages are rising in divorce rates.
