Yes, 9/11 was good for Israel.

That is, according to the former Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about this in the British/American press.

I am certain if it was anyone else saying this, cries of anti-semitism would have been heard all over Europe and America.

Here it is:

Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel

By Haaretz Service and Reuters

The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

"We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor."

i'd have thought it was obvious.

the 9/11 attacks and the fallout since virtually shoved islamic extremism to the forefront of world affairs. attitudes towards muslims by westerners have changed, words such as islamophobia were born, and sympathy towards muslims and subsequently palistinians dried up pretty sharpish in the west.

this all benefited israels cause, seeing as they're fighting a war against muslims.
