I don't know much about the guy.

In one respect, irrespective of which party member he is, he's still a new face. Which is essentially what Pakistan needs.

On the other side, he may simply be the voice box of the PPP and he'll just act out the wishes of the departed Benazir be it if those judgements were sound or not.

He's not a new boy, just not as well know as some of the others.

He's been in government circles for a number of years - since the Zia days, or at least since Benazir first came to power in the late 80s.

And you are right, he will be a mouth piece for the PPP - and more prescisely, Mr Zardari.
