The Chinese wont do anything until the two week Olympics are over. Then they will kick the Tibetans’ asses, as the world puts on its blinkers again regarding Tibet. India will probably increase their business ties with china, like they did with Burma a couple of months ago. Fuckers.

there are varying reports coming out of Lhasa of deaths, chinese "press" say 16. other figures say 80.

State run news! Its laughable that we in the west think everything is a govt run conspiracy. We have it easy. We just don’t realise it.
I think Jin died on the island – the date has the day the plane crashed. Jack mentioned at kate’s court case that 8 survived, but two died later on the island. It also has Sun’s date of death as well, so presumably the tombstone was made by her parents, mourning both of them.
The doc? Nah, Jack doesn’t do it for me.

that lost link crashed firefox for some strange reason. but i did get a quick browse and from the comments it has suns name and a birthdate, but no date of death. i'm gona have to watch the clip again.

I didn’t mean that you can’t criticise what’s going on here. I meant that people here don’t realise what REAL state-run/control means and that they see some cctv and speed cameras, they think big brother and moan about civil liberties. Places in the middle east, china etc there may not be a lot of cctv, but that’s where the real 1984 happens. North Korea gets the biscuit.

the head honcho in china is aparantly open to talks with the dalai lama over tibet. but even the DL himself has conceeded that tibet will probably not be completely seperate from China.

the bushmeister has now asked china to start talks with the DL. not that it'll make fuck all difference. and i find it hilarious that china lifts the firewall to the bbc site, but then doesn't take beeb reporters to Lhasa!
you know, im almost contemplating giving up on lost and waiting till its all over, and watching them in one go. making notes along the way (because fuck me, you have to).

You should watch it. You might learn something.

oh you've gotta love konnie huq this weekend. she wants to make a point about tibet but took part in the relay anyway. she said she'd wear a pro-tibet tshirt but didn't. its like shes got her own moral standpoint yet wouldn't turn down those 15 minutes for it.
and what the hell was she doing carrying the flame anyway?! there was a great shot on the cover of this mornings metro with denise lewis carrying the torch into downing st surrounded by 10 chinese guards, and what looks like 30 coppers surrounding them. that torch is more protected than certain polititians! |

burried deep on page 16 of this mornings metro is a newsclip of how 9 monks have been arrested following a supposed bomb attack on a chinese building in late march.
so now the chinese are making up bomb blasts from 3 weeks ago. |
